▸ Lucera
In various ages this town has taken on different denominations, as the key of Puglia, Lucera of Saracens or the city of Saint Mary.
Lucera was a Roman colony among the favorites of Emperor Augustus, a land loved by Frederick II then conquered by the Angevin rulers. It preserves priceless monuments such as the Roman amphitheater and the Swabian-Angevin fortress, as well as the medieval Cathedral and numerous noble palaces of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
